The Tata corporation now owns the right to put the Daimler name on a car
While ''Daimler'' is a name for a fancy Jaguar in Britain, Daimlers are not sold in America, so Americans will think it is a product of Daimler-Benz

They may have bought the Daimler name, but there is no way in hell you could put a Daimler badge on any model in the Tata range and not get laughed out of the market.

Anybody who knows what the Daimler badge means and what it stands for would see this ugly little car, cheaply made and badly-specced, and they would laugh and laugh and laugh.

A Daimler is a classy large luxurious car, built to last with every luxury concievable.

Those cars will not even come close to passing our safety laws here so not likely to happen. Unless it is bought by an American company then the government bends to rules for them like they do to sell the hunks of junk they sell now.

of course. happens all the time. the newest pontiac GTO is a re-badged holden monaro (also sold as a vauxhall monaro). does not mean it will happen, and probably won't. if tata wanted to sell new daimlers (jaguars to most americans), they'd probably make new ones, the way volkswagen handles bentleys. and to Hruth, a cheap car company can make much higher-end cars and do a good job. case in point, maserati, and ferrari are both owned by fiat, and they're much better than fiats
